Bring the Tussman exports. Tier 4 Legal reads them, keeps the decedent, court, case number, fiduciary and beneficiaries on each matter, places every ledger line where it belongs, and writes only when you say so.

Six exports from the Tussman Program, each with its header row: the Clients export, the Matters table with the estate fields picked, Staff, the Master Ledger, Codes and the Calendar.
Client ID, name, type, address, referral source and originating staff.
Matter ID, number, description, case type, status, responsible staff, open and close dates. Pick the estate fields: decedent, date of death, court, case number, fiduciary, role, beneficiaries.
Staff ID, name, initials, role and default rate. Staff become timekeepers.
Every transaction with its Trans Type, date, hours, rate, amount, timekeeper, check number and bill number.
Activity and cost codes with their default rates and units.
Dated events by matter, with type, assignment and whether done.
Tier 4 Legal reads every file, works out which export it is, and shows the counts: clients, matters, timekeepers, entries, bills, payments, trust. Nothing is written yet.
Rows that cannot be placed are listed by file and, where it applies, row number, with the reason in plain words. A Trans Type we do not place is named, never guessed.
One confirmation writes everything in a single step. Uploading the same files twice is caught before anything is written.
The whole move-in comes back out, as long as no new work has been added on top of it. If something has, Tier 4 Legal names it.
Matter numbers, staff, codes and the ledger come across in the shape you already use.
Matter numbers stay as they were. Clients are filed under the same names.
Decedent, date of death, probate court, case number, fiduciary and role, and beneficiaries land on the matter and show in its detail view.
Time, cost, bill, payment, trust deposit, disbursement and applied, refund, interest, retainer deposit and applied: each Trans Type goes to its own ledger. A write-off is recorded on the bill and reduces the balance like a payment.
Default rates land on the timekeeper and resolve on every new entry. Matter and client rates are entered under Settings after the move-in.
Activity codes become task codes, cost codes become cost codes, with their rates.
Dated events land on the matter as docket entries, flagged when overdue.
Open the app, check four things, and get back to work.
Compare the Trust tab to your last Tussman trust report. The numbers should match to the cent.
Open one probate matter and read the estate details: decedent, court, case number, fiduciary, beneficiaries.
Open receivables should equal your last aging. New bills continue after your highest number, with your own prefix.
Under Settings. New entries pick up the right rate for the client, matter and timekeeper.
We walk through your own data with you, estate fields checked on a real matter, before you commit to anything.
